Kornfeld interview

I don’t know how many people saw the Kornfeld interview last night on WVIA, if you didn’t  you missed quite a show. Very funny, insightful, looked back 50 + years in the hospitality business. I’m sure it will be re-broadcast again, you don’t want to miss it.

Original Broadcast Date: Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Rick, Ross, and Mitch Kornfeld are second-generation owners of the Woodlands Inn and Resort in Wilkes Barre. In an industry where the days are long and the work is hard, hear how the Kornfelds have melded three very different personalities with a great sense of humor to grow a very competitive business.

comments on recent stay

I stayed here for a get-a-way weekend with my husband. (fri, check in-sat- sun, check out) The moment we walked into the building we were greeted with smiles. Front desk staff was very friendly. Room was very clean and modern. We decided to grab a few drinks at the sports bar. Bartender extremely friendly and helpful. She supplied us with detailed information about the different drink specials and happy hours that would be going on throughout the weekend and made an awesome espresso martini! After taking a pleasant nap we decided to have dinner at the japanese restaurant. Great sushi and service! Saturday night we decided to venture to the night club. Again, Great service! (beautiful bar staff). We had an amazing night! night club was very fun! Downstairs bar was nice too which overlooked the beautiful stream. They even had a live band downstairs. I have never stayed at a hotel that had so much to offer. We literally never had to leave the resort. Next time we will have to stay longer to enjoy the casino that is nearby. We will be back!
